Stephanie Vaquer’s defense of her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship has been announced, as she anticipates her subsequent title-for-title match with Mercedes Mone. The confirmation of Vaquer’s title defense against the reigning TBS Champion came this month, and the bout is scheduled to occur during the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event on June 30.
Social media confirmed that Vaquer’s defense will be against La Catalina at the CMLL x NJPW Fantastica Mania event on June 21st in Mexico. Tony Khan, the esteemed promoter, made clear that regardless of whether Catalina wins the title, Vaquer will face Mone at Forbidden Door. However, only the TBS Championship will be at stake in that encounter.
Mercedes Mone is also scheduled to guard her title from Zeuxis Lucero in an episode of AEW Dynamite in the near future. Details regarding what will transpire if Mone loses her title have not been revealed.
