UFC Hall of Famer to Wrestle Under UWFI Rules
Stephan Bonnar to Headline Paradigm Pro Wrestling Event on November 15th

JEFFERSONVILLE, September 28, 2019 – UFC Hall of Famer “The American Psycho” Stephan Bonnar will compete in a UWFI rules professional wrestling match in Jeffersonville, IN, for Paradigm Pro Wrestling on Friday, November 15th.

In 2005, Bonnar was the runner-up on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 1 on Spike TV. His fight with Forrest Griffin at the “TUF1 Ultimate Fighter Finale” is widely considered to be the most important fight in UFC history. Over the course of his career, Bonnar has fought seven world champions including all-time greats such as Anderson Silva and Jon Jones.

Bonnar will compete against “The One Man Militia” Matthew Justice. Justice is a former developmental talent for World Wrestling Entertainment who currently holds titles for Paradigm Pro Wrestling, Absolute Intense Wrestling, and Blackcraft Wrestling.

The match will be held under Japanese style UWFi (Union of Wrestling Forces International) Rules, a hybrid of traditional professional wrestling and mixed martial arts. Under UWFi rules, there are no pinfalls – matches may only be won via knock-out, TKO, or submission. The UWFi style and ruleset is widely considered to be a precursor to the modern MMA style.

In addition to the Bonnar vs Justice Super Fight, the show will also feature the Fighting Spirit Heavyweight Grand Prix, an 8-man one-night UWFI rules tournament which includes EVOLVE Wrestling stars Anthony Henry and JD Drake, Absolute Intense Wrestling Head Trainer Dominic Garrini, former Ring of Honor star Erick Stevens, and Paradigm Pro Wrestling Champions AJ Gray and Bobby Beverly.

“We’re thrilled to have a fighter of Stephan Bonnar’s talent and fame competing under UWFI rules. Bonnar was a pioneer for the UFC, and given UWFI’s influence on modern MMA, it seems like a logical step in his transition to professional wrestling. What’s even more exciting is that – to our knowledge – this will be the first time the full UWFI ruleset (ropebreaks, points, and all) has been used in the United States in a couple of decades.” said Paradigm Pro Wrestling co-owner Gary Wilson.

Paradigm Pro Wrestling’s “Fighting Spirit Heavyweight Grand Prix” will eminent from The Jeffersonville Arena at 1416 Spring Street in Jeffersonville, IN on November 15, 2019. Tickets range from $15 to $25. Doors will open at 7:15 p.m. with the show starting at 8:00 p.m. More information is available at ParadigmProWrestling.com
