Following the dismissal of Australian WWE star Indi Hartwell last week, Steph De Lander has made public her belief that Hartwell would be a perfect fit for the TNA wrestling world.
Prior to the SmackDown event, Hartwell, in collaboration with Tegan Nox, was let go by the WWE. Hartwell had been partnering with Candice LeRae in a tag-team match.
De Lander voiced her thoughts on “The Commentary Booth” podcast recently, advocating for Hartwell to transition into TNA. She expressed,
“I believe as a performer, your hard work is essential, but if circumstances aren’t favorable, success may be elusive. I experienced this in NXT. I believe Indi has had similar feelings in certain times, especially when she’s not provided screen time or other opportunities. Almost every wrestler can associate with a phase in their career when they’ve felt undervalued like this.
“This situations can leave you feeling powerless, with no control. However, it’s also true that big changes can occur swiftly if a company or individual believes in you. You can keep making suggestions, but if they’re continuously ignored, there’s only so much you can do.
“TNA presents a suitable environment for such situations, and yes, should Indi opt to explore this path, I’m confident there would be a role for her. But, I guess only time will reveal what transpires in the coming months.”
Before initiating her career elsewhere, Hartwell must adhere to a 90-day non-compete clause and likely sort out her work visa details.
Throughout her time with WWE, Hartwell achieved success by winning the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships and holding the record for the shortest NXT Women’s title reign, spanning merely 31 days.
