As we reported earlier today here on eWn, Scott D’Amore has been fired by TNA Wrestling. He will be replaced by Anthony Cicione.
In a statement released on Thursday morning, it was announced by Anthem that D’Amore’s contract has been terminated effective immediately and Cicione has been appointed to the position of president of TNA Wrestling.
Now, Anthony Cicione has issued his own statement to address why the change was made. It doesn’t appear D’Amore did anything wrong here – it’s just a case of Anthem moving in a different direction.
The move has drawn negative reactions from multiple members of the roster. D’Amore was said to have been well-liked and many believe he’s the one who “saved” TNA/Impact when he took over.
