According to Tokyo Sports, Starlight Kid, a pro wrestler from STARDOM, has suffered a shoulder injury during an indie wrestling event on March 10. This has led to her being benched for the time being.
The shoulder injury happened during a Falls Count Anywhere trios match where Starlight was teamed up with Mei Seira and AZM. Their opponents were Hazuki, Mayu Iwatani, and Saya Iida.
This unfortunate turn of events caused Starlight to miss a much-anticipated match at a Strong Style Pro Wrestling event scheduled for March 13.
Despite this, Starlight soldiered on to compete on March 15 where she defended her Wonder Of Stardom title against Konami. However, she has since decided to take an interlude for her health.
Starlight posted a translated message on Twitter saying, “I’m going to take a little break. The ring would be unthinkable without the Wonder & Artist Champion! So I hope to recover quickly and get back in the ring. I’m also sorry about the Kamiya match. Whenever it’s safe, I’ll do it. But I will be at autograph sessions and events, so I would be happy if you came to see me.”
On the other side of the pro-wrestling world, the New Japan Cup 2025 has been in full swing. The finals for the tournament are to occur on Thursday.
David Finlay is slated to battle it out in the ring against Shota Umino, with the victor earning a chance to challenge Hirooki Goto for his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
In the semifinals, Umino emerged victorious over Shingo Takagi, while Finlay managed to triumph over Zack Sabre Jr.
