The forthcoming episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, tucked away for next week, is currently in its taping stage (early reveals will be uploaded here tonight). But, if you prefer to remain oblivious until it’s time, we have made arrangements for you.

Referring to the formal notifications broadcast during tonight’s SmackDown event, here’s a taste of what we can anticipate for the following week’s episode:

On the tail of the close-quarters encounter between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, which appeared to ignite a fire within Rhodes, The American Nightmare found himself mid-dispute backstage with Carmelo Hayes, who was siding with Owens. A provoked Rhodes pushed Hayes over, which required intervention from SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. This led the WWE champion to consider the possibility of reevaluating Aldis’s initial-round WWE Draft selection, which suggests a potential match between Rhodes and Hayes.

Due to an unexpected backstage assault on Jade Cargill, she is absent from her proposed debut-round Triple Threat match, which is a part of the Women’s United States Championship bout series. The other contenders, Michin and Piper Niven, are due to face a yet-undisclosed replacement for Cargill.

Keeping this in mind, next week’s WWE SmackDown installment promises the undermentioned encounters:

  • A non-title face-off between Cody Rhodes and Carmelo Hayes
  • Opening Round of Women’s United States Championship Triple Threat Match: Michin vs. Piper Niven vs. TBA (a stand-in for Jade Cargill)
