On the tail of the close-quarters encounter between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, which appeared to ignite a fire within Rhodes, The American Nightmare found himself mid-dispute backstage with Carmelo Hayes, who was siding with Owens. A provoked Rhodes pushed Hayes over, which required intervention from SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. This led the WWE champion to consider the possibility of reevaluating Aldis’s initial-round WWE Draft selection, which suggests a potential match between Rhodes and Hayes.

Due to an unexpected backstage assault on Jade Cargill, she is absent from her proposed debut-round Triple Threat match, which is a part of the Women’s United States Championship bout series. The other contenders, Michin and Piper Niven, are due to face a yet-undisclosed replacement for Cargill.
