The International Championship Eliminator Tournament on AEW Dynamite, which was created to determine the next challenger for Kenny Omega at AEW Dynasty, has officially gone underway.
Among the participants of the tournament was “Speedball” Mike Bailey, who played his inaugural match as part of All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He had previously showcased his skills during last year’s Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise. In this week’s episode, he competed as the wild card against The Beast Mortos, and emerged victorious.
All Elite Wrestling’s Twitter posts hailed Bailey’s impressive performance and were filled with enthusiasm about his match against the Beast Mortos.
Following his win, Tony Khan, AEW’s president, confirmed that Bailey had officially signed with AEW. This news was accompanied by the graphic “Mike Bailey is #AllElite”, a phrase reserved for significant signings.
The main event of the evening witnessed Orange Cassidy score a victory over Hechicero, making him the second competitor to progress in the tournament.
Upcoming matches on AEW Collision include Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Davis and Ricochet vs. Katsuyori Shibata. The winners of these bouts will compete in a four-way match against Bailey and Cassidy on the next episode of AEW Dynamite. The champion of this four-way match will secure their spot as the official No. 1 contender.
So, who do you envisage will form the final four and who do you anticipate will clinch the tournament? What are your views on the signing of Mike Bailey with AEW?
