On the latest episode of his podcast, “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy”, professional wrestler Matt Hardy discussed his surprise at hearing about the meeting between Shane McMahon and Tony Khan. He commented,
“It was definitely a ‘whoa’ moment for me. But nothing shocks me anymore, we live in such a chaotic world where anything is possible. The state of the world is just crazy.”
Speculation about the meeting, which became public earlier this month, has led many to suggest that McMahon, often referred to as WWE’s Prodigal Son, could soon join All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
Hardy went on to conjecture that rumors about McMahon crossing over to AEW might create a surge in AEW’s viewership. He speculated,
“The revelation is so outrageous… and the timing being on a Wednesday is intriguing. If the news was deliberately shared, it could generate a lot of buzz for Dynamite. People would then be discussing Tony Khan, Shane McMahon, AEW and might tune into Dynamite that night. So, the Wednesday timing will likely stoke conspiracy theories.”
Sharing his experiences with McMahon during their time in WWE, Hardy remarked,
“He was very approachable. He preferred normal, everyday conversation over the dramatic, wrestling-style dialogue. He encouraged us to just pretend like we’re talking to our friends back home and explain things in a more natural way. He provided us with valuable insights.”
It’s reported that McMahon and Khan caught up to explore potential future collaborations. Khan has openly praised McMahon in public.
