Slammiversary News – Kenny King Wins Digital Media Title, KUSHIDA Wins Ultimate X Match

The opening match at Impact Wrestling Slammiversary 2023 resulted in a new champion, as Kenny King defeated Joe Hendry to win the Digital Media Championship on the pre-show.

This is King’s maiden reign as Digital Media Champion. He ends the reign of Joe Hendry at 266 days, the longest in Impact Wrestling history.

Hendry first won the title on October 22, 2022, during an episode of Impact! on AXS.

The Ultimate X match at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary 2023 pay-per-view event featured a surprise entrant, however, it was KUSHIDA who ended up winning.

Jake Something made his return to Impact Wrestling and was added to the match after over a year away from the promotion. Jake last wrestled at Impact Sacrifice 2022, where he lost to Trey Miguel.

KUSHIDA outlasted Jake Something, Kevin Knight, Angels, Jonathan Gresham, and Mike Bailey to win the marquee matchup.
