Welcome to another Day’s Question courtesy of eWrestlingNews!
Popularly known as The Viking Raiders, Erik and Ivar have resumed their original War Raiders tag team name as of the previous edition of Monday Night Raw.
Although not quite going back to War Machine — a name they would certainly revert to if they ever left WWE for the independent circuit or a different company such as AEW — it seems as though they are returning to their roots and leaving behind the viking gimmick, possibly requested by Vince McMahon.
One point that hasn’t yet been discussed, however, is whether in the process of shedding the viking look, they may have also disposed of their valet, Valhalla, also known as Sarah Logan. Will she remain with them, or go her own way? And if she stays, how will this be managed?
Today’s thought-provoking question is “What fate should befall Sarah Logan in WWE? Should she continue as Valhalla alongside them, keep the name but break away, or pursue an entirely different path?”
We look forward to hearing your opinions in the comments section below.
On a personal note…
With all due respect, it seems to me that Logan has never made a significant impact on the roster even during her prime. As the often overlooked member of The Riott Squad, which never particularly resonated with me, she struggled to establish an individual character. Interestingly, my most memorable image of her is as Kane’s concessions manager.
The Valhalla persona doesn’t have long-term potential, and it wouldn’t make sense to keep her in this role while her comrades have discarded their viking attire. If she is to stick with them, she must either reinvent herself as a Mad Max: Fury Road/Furiosa-inspired figure (circa the Road Warriors) or take on a new alias.
Frankly, I don’t believe she significantly enhances their ringside presence. They command the ring independently without needing her to cheat on their behalf, and she is neither their spokesperson nor given the same visual focus as Scarlett or B-Fab. What purpose does she serve, then?
Alone, she has found minimal success, and I see little chance of that changing soon. Imagining WWE promoting her toward a women’s world title seems as likely as expecting a major push for Tamina. They would have invested in her by now if that was their plan. Logan, whatever her gimmick, is not a priority. But then again, even performers like Tegan Nox, who were seen to have more potential, have been missing in action for months and can’t seem to make significant progress. How would Logan’s luck be any different?
I would never wish for anyone’s unemployment, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up being released. Rather, I’d prefer to see WWE utilizing her as their manager in a Road Warrior-styled gimmick, as I suggested earlier. If that doesn’t work out, perhaps she could join NXT, where she could breathe some new life into the roster and impart her experience to the younger generation.
WWE always have ways to retain their talent within their budget constraints, and I wholeheartedly support experimenting before resorting to layoffs. That being said, termination could unfortunately be the safest prediction. But if Valhalla keeps her viking attire and remains with them, defying expectations and leading to success, I’d happily admit to my pessimistic prediction.
If she ends up leaving WWE, I believe that Sarah Logan could thrive in NWA. In my opinion, AEW wouldn’t put her first, TNA wouldn’t bestow a title on her, and I doubt she’d desire an extensive independent tour. On the other hand, NWA could give her a real opportunity, or perhaps even WOW could be a welcome new direction.
