Welcome to another snap of eWrestlingNews Conundrum of the Day!
In the past, wrestlers from all over the spectrum were billed from Parts Unknown. This location served as a placeholder for characters with a more frightening persona like The Missing Link. But the mystery continues as to why wrestlers like Brutus Beefcake or Ultimate Warrior were presented from there. Unraveling this mystery will remain an eternal quest.
It’s been a while since this concept was last used, and considering today is Halloween, I have been pondering some scary-themed questions. One such thought that struck me was the revival of the Parts Unknown angle, which I believe has been missing in action for quite long.
The question I’m dropping before you today is “Should Parts Unknown make a comeback, who would you have billed from there? If not, should Parts Unknown be consigned to history forever?”
Looking forward to hearing your perspective in the comments below.
As for my opinion…
The Beast Mortos, I believe, exemplifies a missed chance to revive this concept as he is one of the few wrestlers today who portray a “monster”, even though it seems slightly out of place today to have someone grunting like that.
I also think that Hologram, given his virtually created persona, could be billed from Parts Unknown. Although it’s a long shot and not something I would heavily advocate for, it crossed my mind while browsing the roster.
Luther is billed from The Kingdom of Nye and that’s basically a variant of Parts Unknown. Therefore, I’m counting it as a destination within Parts Unknown. Similarly, Abadon being from “The Black Hills” aligns more with the Parts Unknown theme than Orange Cassidy’s “Wherever”
Within the WWE repository, the only wrestlers who could possibly fit the bill are Akam and Rezar, provided their characters are slightly retouched from being mere thugs to embrace the enigma of Final Testament. A similar proportion applies to Karrion Kross, or The Wyatt Sicks.
But the ideal pick for this would have been Zaria considering she didn’t have an already established backstory of being from elsewhere. Her Mad Max-inspired character adds to her allure. Unlike Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer who kept their original names under DELTA, Zaria’s wrestling persona would benefit from the nostalgia evoked by the return of Parts Unknown.
