Should Lio Rush Or Someone Else Join MVP In AEW? | Question Of The Day

Here’s your daily question, wrestling fans, brought to you by eWrestlingNews!

Last night on AEW Dynamite, Shelton Benjamin beat Lio Rush. Despite this, an interesting moment ensued when MVP offered a business card to Rush post-match. Although MVP’s speech after the match was primarily centered around trying to persuade Swerve Strickland to join The Hurt Syndicate, this incident poses an intriguing question.

The question for today is, “Disregarding Swerve Strickland, should Lio Rush and/or potentially anyone else from the AEW roster, align themselves in The Hurt Syndicate with MVP and Shelton Benjamin?”

As for my opinion…

I won’t beat around the bush here. I firmly believe that Lio Rush needs to join The Hurt Syndicate and he should not be the only new member.

Yes, like many out there, I too am expecting Bobby Lashley to join AEW soon and become part of this group. Despite my admiration for Shelton Benjamin, he won’t overshadow Bobby Lashley in the group. Yet, there’s ample space for more than just these two and MVP.

The story of Cedric Alexander is a case in point. Despite the WWE’s barely-there attempts to utilize him, he still managed to thrive. Given AEW’s three separate men’s middleweight titles (not counting Ring of Honor) and the tag team titles for both duos and trios, The Hurt Syndicate can accommodate more members.

Given that Rush is part of Top Flight, which can operate without him, it’d be better for him to join the Syndicate. If included in The Hurt Syndicate, he could potentially bring a different style to the group. Plus, considering Lashley and Rush’s past association, it will be interesting to see them together again. There are other candidates for these potential spots as well, but these will depend largely on what other plans Tony Khan has.

If The Acclaimed ever splits up, Max Caster can bring a lot to the group. Also, Ricochet can offer a dynamic partnership with Rush. Adding MVP’s promo skills to the mix could be what’s needed to elevate Ricochet to next level, becoming the #2 guy behind Lashley.

To conclude, the addition of Lio Rush to The Hurt Syndicate is something worth exploring.
