In a recent conversation with Renee Paquette, the AEW wrestler Christopher Daniels shared his experiences and insights about mentoring budding talents and the significant evolution he has observed in the industry since his early career days.
Below are some key takeaways from Daniels’ interview:
When asked about how he’d fare if he were to start wrestling today, Daniels admitted, “I somewhat comprehend that if I, ‘Christopher Daniels’ was making a start in professional wrestling at present, I’m unsure about experiencing the same level of success.”
Regarding the guidance he imparts to younger wrestlers, Daniels stated, “Much of the counsel I would typically offer to newbies might potentially be outdated now. However, I always try to pass on the proven strategies that consistently worked well in professional wrestling.”
In other news, unfortunate circumstances have led NJPW wrestler Shota Umino to pull out from ‘NJPW Soul’ due to an injury. Via a tweet, Umino shared about his fractured hip bone and a strained disc in his back. He also expressed optimism about recovering from the injury in time for the upcoming G1 Climax competition.
Starting from July 20, the NJPW G1 Climax 34 tournament is scheduled to take place, wherein Umino was initially expected to compete in the A Block in the round-robin format.
In the words of Umino, “I had a hip bone fracture and a slipped disc. I took an MRI. Somehow, I will return to Tokyo tomorrow. I will surely return by G1. I will be off for a while. I’m sorry.”
