LA Knight, the WWE United States Champion, hosted an open challenge on the recent episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. The match ended in his favor, as he successfully defeated Humberto Carrillo from Legado Del Fantasma.
However, Knight’s victory celebration was cut short by an unexpected assault from the rebounding Shinsuke Nakamura, who sported a more menacing appearance than ever.
The feud between Knight and Nakamura has been in the making for some time now, with many face-offs at live events over the past several months. Particularly, Knight defended and retained his title against Nakamura during recent house shows in the United Kingdom all through October. The August tour ‘Road to Bash in Berlin’ also featured multiple Fatal 4-Way matches where Knight triumphed over Nakamura, Ilja Dragunov, Ludwig Kaiser, and occasionally, Sheamus.
Nakamura, on the other hand, has been absent from on-screen wrestling since his loss to Sheamus on the April 22nd episode of Monday Night Raw.
The official WWE’s tweet captures the shocking moment:
“Unbelievable! 😱@ShinsukeN is back and he just brought down @RealLAKnight!! #SmackDown”
