Shelton Benjamin made his first appearance inside the ring for All Elite Wrestling in the October 16, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite. He emerged victorious in his bout against Lio Rush.
The competition was hardly one-sided, with Lio Rush managing to land some good shots, although still the majority of the battle saw Benjamin taking the upper hand.
When the dust settled, MVP took to the ring and grabbed a mic, questioning Swerve Strickland’s credibility. He insinuated that perhaps there are grounds for Strickland to reassess his stance, considering the proverbial burn down of his ‘house’. MVP hinted at their previously started conversation from AEW WrestleDream, and his ongoing pursuit to convince the ex-AEW world champion to avail his management services.

In a later announcement, it was revealed that the forthcoming special Fright Night Dynamite episode in Cleveland, Ohio on October 30th, will witness a showdown between Swerve Strickland and Shelton Benjamin.
