Shelton Benjamin has made the claim that Vince McMahon lacked belief in his potential. This revelation was made during his appearance on a recent episode of the “Gabby AF” podcast. Within the conversation, Benjamin touched upon his professional relationship with the erstwhile WWE Chairman.

Some key insights from the podcast are outlined below:

Speaking about his interactions with McMahon, Benjamin commented, “For the most part, it was all business. My meetings with Vince have never been anything but cordial. Yes, there were moments when I’ve witnessed Vince in troubled moods, but my one-on-one experiences with him were generally positive. There might be one instance from my initial days when he possibly showed anger at us over some trivial issue which he might not remember today. But since it’s Vince, the memory is etched in my mind. However, in the broader picture, it wasn’t anything significant.”

Regarding his greatest grievance with McMahon, Benjamin stated, “Speaking from a personal perspective, I don’t have many complaints about Vince. The core of my issue with Vince was that he did not place enough trust in my capabilities. He should believe in you to assign you in specific roles. That’s my only real personal contention with him. Aside from that, I have few negative comments about my engagements with him. Whenever I requested a meeting, he ensured I had it.”

“On a few occasions, I waited for a while. There was a time where I waited nearly three to four hours post a show for a meeting. His mindset was, ‘If you seriously want this meeting, you can wait.’ Usually, people express a desire for a meeting and then walk away when he makes them wait. Apart from these trivial matters, I don’t have many negative personal instances.”
