Naomi and Sonya Deville have been feuding for almost two months now, and the conflict seemed set to come to a head on Friday when the two foes were scheduled to face each other in a match. But Deville had some tricks up her sleeve, and she wound up sending Naomi a painful message.
After the former SmackDown Women’s Champion finally got a match against Deville, Naomi came down to the ring prepared for a singles, but Deville announced that the bout would be a handicap match. Her partner was none other than Shayna Baszler, one of the most physically imposing women on the roster. As soon as the match began, Deville and Baszler gained up on the fan-favorite star.
While Naomi was able to get one good kick in on Deville, Baszler quickly trapped her in the Kirifuda Clutch. Deville proceeded to pin Naomi once she had been practically choked out. This loss was a tough blow for Naomi, who had been trying to get into the ring against anyone for some time, but she made the mistake of underestimating Deville on Friday. Surely, she’ll be hoping for revenge sooner rather than later.
