Shayna Baszler And Nia Jax Dethrone The Golden Role Models, Win Women’s Tag Titles At WWE Payback

At WWE Payback, Sasha Banks and Bayley defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Jax and Baszler had been rivals in recent weeks, but they decided to put aside their differences for this opportunity. Baszler immediately tagged herself in so she could start the match against Banks. Banks locked in a modified abdominal stretch, but Baszler slammed her to the mat. Baszler targeted Bayley’s arm when she tagged in. Bayley threw Baszler into Jax, and the collision knocked Jax off the apron. Banks and Bayley took control of the match and isolated Baszler.

Jax repeatedly slammed Jax into the barricade at ringside. She also flattened Bayley but running right into her inside the ring. Banks took a cheap shot by hitting Jax with a chop block. The champions double-teamed Jax and controlled the match. Jax planted Bayley with a Samoan Drop, and dragged the champion across the ring so she could tag Baszler. She rocked Banks and Bayley with sliding knees to the face. Baszler suplexed Banks and tagged Jax. Jax squashed the champions with a splash in the corner.
A diving elbow drop and a frog splash on Jax earned Banks a near fall. Jax reversed a double-team move and tagged Baszler. She locked Bayley the Kirifuda Clutch while she also had Banks in a Muta Lock. Using Banks’ arm to further choke Bayley, Baszler earned the win by making Bayley tap out.
