Shawn Spears isn’t bothered by what side fans take in the WWE-AEW ‘war’ as everyone is ultimately watching and talking about pro wrestling.
Spears, formerly Tye Dillinger in WWE, joined AEW in 2019 and would quickly enter a feud with then-AEW EVP Cody Rhodes.
Speaking about the hostilities that often exist between WWE and AEW fans, Spears said on the “Off Her Chops” podcast that the fans aren’t as different as they may think. He said,
“In terms of WWE fans and AEW fans going against each other, I don’t care what side you’re on because, at the end of the day, you’re talking about wrestling. You’re furthering the growth of the industry. As long as somebody is watching wrestling I don’t give a s**t.”
Spears’ most recent match for AEW saw him participate in the All Out 2023 battle royal which would be won by ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.
