Leading up to tonight’s highly anticipated WWE Money in the Bank 2024 pay-per-view event, Chelsea Green engaged in a conversation with the Toronto Sun. Among many topics, she expressed her excitement and anticipation about being part of the women’s ladder match.
Chelsea Green shared some insight from her recent interview.
When talking about her involvement in Money in the Bank, she said, “I feel that the past decade of my career has built up to this moment. There were moments when I felt like every struggle was worth it for this very moment. Now, as I return to WWE, able to participate in a premium live event, the elation is above all. The cherry on top is the event being in my home country, Canada. The idea of bringing the Money In the Bank briefcase back home is beyond words.”
Coming this far wasn’t easy, as she expresses, “It’s been a rollercoaster journey. From multiple rejections to numerous injuries, failed and successful characters, it all contributed to my journey. This weekend’s event in Toronto is a testament that every struggle has been worth it.”
When commenting on her initial career struggles, she admitted, “The initial five years felt like a never-ending pursuit which I couldn’t achieve. But reflecting now, the journey was not about the end goal but the experiences gained. The inability to immediately enter WWE led me to explore diverse shows, which makes my journey unique.”
In another interview with Sports Illustrated, WWE NXT’s Shawn Michaels shared his perspective about his past and his work, likening WWE NXT to college.
Reflecting on his career, Michaels stated, “Looking back, I am astounded at the magnitude of my career. It’s been a long and life-changing journey. It’s overwhelming to go through all the memorabilia from my wrestling past, accumulated over the years. Each item brings back a rush of memories, making me incredibly grateful for the grand journey.”
Speaking about this weekend’s WWE NXT in Toronto and his hopes for the participants, Michaels remarked, “It feels reverberating to be in Toronto this weekend. I am expecting Je’Von to make an impression. While Trick isn’t new to the ring, his understanding of the scale of the game sets him apart. Experienced veterans like Ethan Page and Shawn Spears add depth to the team. I want everyone to savor their experiences here, much like one would in college.”
Michaels advised the wrestling newbies to “enjoy the moment,” and reflected on his own experiences from WrestleMania XII. “I was told to live in the moment and try to enjoy it. When I revisited WWE in 2002, I ensured to enjoy every bit of it. Je’Von, Trick, Ethan, and Spears have promising careers. But right now is a significant moment for each one of them, and I hope they soak it all in. This event will definitely be a fitting conclusion to an exhilarating show this Sunday.”
