Recently, Sharmell Huffman, a WWE Hall of Fame member, appeared on the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast. Huffman spoke about her experience in her match with Jenna Morasca at TNA, her induction into the Hall of Fame, and more.
Excerpts from the podcast are detailed below:
Commenting on her induction into WWE’s Hall of Fame, Huffman said: “I nearly lost my cool trying to soak in that moment, which gave me so much validation. I knew I deserved it, but made the mistake of reading comments from some internet trolls. Some were quite rude so I had to switch off. I started my journey as a Nitro Girl, acting as a valet for various people then becoming a backstage interviewer and experiencing a bit of wrestling. Then as Queen Sharmell to eventually training the next generation. I know I invested a lot of my time in it.”
Addressing her match with Jenna Morasca in TNA which she thought should never have happened, she explained: “In my view, it shouldn’t have happened because neither Jenna nor I were prepared for it. Jenna had never had a match before and trained for just a couple of days, which was not nearly enough. You can’t become a wrestler with a few days of training. It was a bit unfortunate because neither of us were experts in the ring and Jenna had hardly had any experience. The entire setup seemed puzzling, but we gave it our best.”
