It all comes down to this; at Ring of Honor‘s fittingly titled “Final Battle: End of an Era” pay-per-view, Kenny King and Shane Taylor will finally wage war in a singles match.
The two stars have been feuding since February, when King cost Taylor his ROH World Championship match with RUSH. Since then, their respective factions, La Faccion Ingobernable and Shane Tayor Promotions have been engaged in a bitter rivalry.
Now, the two former friends will clash at ROH’s final pay-per-view of the year.
ROH staff member Kevin Eck announced the news in the latest edition of his Eck’s Files series on the ROH Website.
In a grudge match 10 months in the making, former friends Shane Taylor and Kenny King will collide at the Final Battle: End of an Era pay-per-view on Dec. 11 in Baltimore.
Taylor has had a score to settle with King since February, when King betrayed Taylor by hitting him over the head with a chair to cause him to lose his ROH World Title Match against then-champion RUSH.
It was inevitable that these two would square off, and ROH’s biggest pay-per-view of the year is a fitting place to do it. The bout was signed after Taylor and King had a face-to-face confrontation following a match between Dragon Lee and Matt Taven on the current episode of ROH Week By Week.
ROH previously announced that it will be taking the first quarter of 2022 to “reimagine” itself, so the company will go on hiatus for this period of time. Various outlets subsequently reported that ROH will not be renewing the contracts of its talent roster at the end of the year.
