Shane Helms, recognized endearingly by WWE fans as “The Hurricane,” last strutted his stuff under the global wrestling organization’s spotlight in 2021’s all-male Royal Rumble match.

In a recent heart-to-heart with Gabby LaSpisa on the “Gabby AF” podcast, Helms divulged his plans to regain his good old “spandex” physique. His words were,

“Currently, I’m navigating my way back into spandex shape. For a good length of time, that just wasn’t viable. At one point, they even proposed me making a full getup stint as Hurricane, which John Cone posited. ‘John, you’ve been seeing me on TV week after week. You’re aware I can’t squeeze into that darn costume.’ Spandex always tells the whole truth. Wearing it, I’d be resembling a burst can of biscuits. I don’t want to load my conscience with that burden.”

Separately, during a tête-à-tête with Gaming Bible, Cody Rhodes, the reigning WWE champion, broke down John Cena’s astounding villainous pivot at WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto, shining a light on why Cena seems all the more formidable at present. His observations were,

“I nearly miscalculated when I confronted John for the first time after the Elimination Chamber on 17 March at Raw in Brussels, Belgium. He launched our inaugural promotional pitch since then. My initial standpoint was that I was up against the John of yore, however, the reality depicts a reformed John. He’s popularly hailed as ‘big match John’ for substantial reasons. Having weathered every extreme stress situation, he boasts experiences that only a rare handful can claim. He’s a wizard of his craft. However, this version of John, with everything at stake, presents the most potentially hazardous avatar to date. Against my usual behaviour, I’d approach John flashing a grin and exchanging a handshake, considering this a learning opportunity from a master. He’s also someone I deeply respect. Regardless, I am in the tricky position of having to outdo John Cena in his swansong WrestleMania match when he’s setting his eyes on the 17th world championship record. This pressure falls within my responsibilities, and despite the implied unpredictability, I am eagerly anticipating it.”
