On the latest edition of the “SHAK Wrestling” podcast, Seth Rollins stated that if he isn’t going to dethrone Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, it should be Jey Uso.
Uso will battle Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Title in Tribal Combat at WWE SummerSlam tomorrow, while Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor.
Rollins said, “If it ain’t me, it’s Jey Uso.”
Rollins last challenged Reigns for the title at Royal Rumble 2022, which he won via DQ.
Speaking with Daniel Cormier, Seth Rollins discussed his history with Finn Balor and his connection with the Irish Superstar.
Rollins credited Balor with bringing Becky Lynch into WWE, noting that he likely would never have met and married her without Balor’s training of Lynch.
You can check out some highlights from the interview below:
On his personal perspective of Balor: “Finn Balor is the person that trained my wife. He brought her into the industry. I owe him a lot on a personal level. I may not have a wife and a family if it wasn’t for him. I’m very excited to share the ring. I hope his headspace is where it needs to be because I want the best Finn Balor. I want the best Finn Balor because that’s going to bring out the best Seth Rollins, and that’s going to give the people and the World Heavyweight Championship the best matchup possible.”
On Lynch’s talent as a performer: “She’s the best. The best there is.”
On a recent edition of the “Sports Media” podcast, Becky Lynch noted that she might be lacking the physical endurance in matters of what it takes to grind three hours at the commentary table without a break.
Lynch expressed that while she is a pro in terms of dialogue and analysis, the lack of regular relief makes her shut the door on commentary. She said,
“Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever even considered [doing commentary] because I just look at Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves and Michael Cole and Wade Barrett, and they’re all incredible, but I just go, ‘How do you hold your pee for that long?’ I go, ‘they have to be starving.’ I’m a snacker. I need my snacks. To keep that energy up for that length of time and not have to pee, I don’t know. I think that’s the reason that it’s never been a consideration. Not to say…now that we’re talking about it, I think I would be fairly good at it. I do like to talk and I like to watch wrestling and I like to analyze wrestling and give my two cents. It is something, but again, when you think about it, RAW is over three hours. They gotta hold their pee for that long.”
