During a recent conversation on “The Pivot” podcast, Seth Rollins, the WWE superstar, aired his views about the prevailing lineup of WWE and his conviction that the corporation requires more leading heels. Below are some noteworthy points from the podcast:

While discussing the modern-age WWE babyfaces, Seth Rollins said: “When you reflect on some of our greatest successes they’ve been accredited to face champions. Over the previous four years, Roman Reigns has emerged as the figure, the Tribal Chief, and evolved as the paramount heel. At present, we’re backing Cody Rhodes and we are certainly in this era of babyfaces. We are witnessing personas like Cody, myself, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, and Roman has rebounded as a babyface. We are experiencing a period where everything is falling into place and audiences are relishing a lot of what is happening.”

Talking about WWE’s lack of predominant heels, he added: “I glance around and puzzlingly think, ‘There seems to be a shortage of decent heels.’ The industry is recurrent and we have to surf the waves that come our way and strategize how to maximize potential profits. One can’t help but recall names like Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, (Bruno) Sammartino. Quite a few of the largest box offices have been constructed on top babyfaces.”

During a particular interview with Collider, another WWE sensation, Bo Dallas, elucidated the horror film inspirations for The Wyatt Sicks faction saying:

“During our childhood, Windham and I were fanatics of horror movies. Our tastes ranged from the traditional to some truly obscure ones. One of our extensive influences was the ‘90s edition of ‘The Stand’ by Stephen King. We both found it enthralling, and curiously enough, while brainstorming character ideas, we both autonomously opted to imbibe inspiration from Randall Flagg, oblivious of the other doing the same.”
