After an impressive showing on AEW Dynamite two weeks ago against NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa, Serena Deeb has been signed by the promotion. AEW’s newest signee will get to strut her stuff against KiLynn King on AEW Dakr tomorrow night.

This week I make my AEW Dark debut vs. @KiLynnKing!

Debuting in 2005 in OVW, Serena went on to win their Women’s championship six times. She also wrestled in championship feuds in Shimmer at the time, and that all led to a WWE contract in 2009. She became the Queen of FCW in the half-year she spent there before shaving her head and becoming CM Punk’s Mary Magdalene in the Straight Edge Society.

She was reportedly let go from the company for not abiding by the Straight Edge gimmick, starting another indie run that would see her return to Shimmer, head to Japan, and make an appearance against Mickie James on TNA’s Knockout Knockdown, amongst many other appearances. She would then return to WWE in 2017 in the first Mae Young Classic as a competitor before transitioning to becoming a coach in the Performance Center. WWE let her go again during the mass layoffs on April 15, which led to her joining AEW today.
