Sami Zayn vs. Sean Waltman might not seem like one of the top dream matches WWE could currently produce, but Tweets from both men have left fans wondering whether this match could happen at some point.
Over the weekend, Zayn retweeted a fan who shared a clip of El Generico’s match with Waltman at CHIKARA’s King of Trios show in 2011. In the tweet, Zayn stated that he pitched to face Waltman at WWE SummerSlam 2019.

The clip in the fans’ tweet is from CHIKARA’s King of Trios 2011 show, where Generico and Waltman competed in different groups during the tournament.
Waltman, a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, responded to Zayn’s Tweet by explaining that he was dealing with health issues when Zayn requested to face him two years ago. He teased that he’d be willing to face Zayn at next year’s SummerSlam event if there’s enough interest in this matchup.
*I meant next year's #SummerSlam.

Waltman has been recovering from surgery and working toward an in-ring return, but at this point, his future as an active competitor is unclear.
