Sean “X-Pac” Waltman recently appeared for a Q&A session at the “For The Love of Wrestling” convention, where he discussed WWE’s infamous “Plane Ride From Hell.”
For those unaware, the 2002 flight following the Insurrextion pay-per-view event in the UK involved a flight filled with talents and staff who were highly intoxicated. This is the same flight that resulted in the allegations of sexual assault being levied against Ric Flair as he was accused of exposing himself to flight attendants and forcing them to touch his private area. A lawsuit against WWE regarding that incident wound up being settled out of court.
Waltman said, “So much of that stuff… I’m going, oh my god, I had no idea that happened. I thought I was the real bad boy on that flight. I smoked a little pot in the bathroom and cut Michael Hayes’ hair. And that was nothing, apparently.”
He continued, “Honestly, that was my memory. And a little bit of Ric [Flair] going down the aisle in his robe.”
Mojo Rawley says Megan Thee Stallion was originally planned to appear at WWE SummerSlam.
Speaking on a recent edition of Mandy Rose & Tino Sabatelli’s “Power Alphas” podcast, Rawley commented on meeting the rapper at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, and Stallion’s planned WWE SummerSlam appearance with Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks). He said,
“We went out there for the Crunchyroll Anime awards. Mercedes Mone is a massive anime fan, so we were trying to find something for her in that world and Crunchyroll is essentially the Netflix of Anime. I had no idea the world out there, the scope of the anime community. We got Mercedes on, she’s going to be doing some exciting work with Crunchyroll. One of the things was to go to their anime awards and be a presenter.”
He continued, “Megan Thee Stallion was there, she was sitting at the table next to us. I didn’t realize, but I guess she was going to do something with Mercedes at WWE SummerSlam in years previous, and it just never materialized and fell through for one reason or another. We all know how those situations can go and they get crazy. She was cool. She is tall. I didn’t realize how tall she was. That was the first thing she said. She stood up, ‘Ya’ll didn’t realize how tall ya girl was.’ I was like, ‘Nope, I definitely didn’t.’”
In a recent Q&A session at the “For The Love of Wrestling” convention, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman opened up about WWE’s infamous “Plane Ride From Hell.” This flight, which took place in 2002 after the Insurrextion pay-per-view event in the UK, involved a group of highly intoxicated talents and staff. The flight is notorious for the allegations of sexual assault made against Ric Flair, who was accused of exposing himself to flight attendants and forcing them to touch his private area. WWE eventually settled a lawsuit regarding this incident out of court.
During the Q&A session, Waltman revealed that he had no idea about the extent of the incidents that occurred on the flight. He believed that he was the “bad boy” of the flight because he smoked a little pot in the bathroom and cut Michael Hayes’ hair. However, he soon realized that his actions were relatively minor compared to what transpired.
Waltman also mentioned his memory of Ric Flair walking down the aisle in his robe, which has become a well-known anecdote from the flight. The former WWE superstar’s recollection sheds light on the chaotic and wild atmosphere that characterized the Plane Ride From Hell.
In another wrestling-related news, Mojo Rawley shared some interesting details about Megan Thee Stallion’s planned appearance at WWE SummerSlam. Speaking on Mandy Rose & Tino Sabatelli’s “Power Alphas” podcast, Rawley revealed that Stallion was originally intended to appear alongside Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks) at the event.
Rawley explained that they had met Stallion at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, where they were exploring opportunities for Mercedes Mone in the anime world. Stallion, a massive anime fan herself, was present at the event and had previously been scheduled to do something with Mercedes at WWE SummerSlam in previous years. However, due to various reasons, the collaboration never materialized.
Rawley also mentioned his surprise at Stallion’s height, emphasizing that she is taller than he expected. The rapper’s presence at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards and her potential involvement in WWE SummerSlam highlights the crossover between the worlds of wrestling and entertainment.
Both Waltman’s revelations about the Plane Ride From Hell and Rawley’s insights into Stallion’s planned WWE appearance provide fans with intriguing behind-the-scenes information. These stories offer a glimpse into the unpredictable and sometimes controversial nature of the wrestling industry, where unexpected events and collaborations can shape the course of major events.
