Wrestlezone’s Dominic DeAngelo interviewed the AEW Tag Team Champions SCU at Starrcast IV before they successfully defended their belts at Full Gear. Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky were asked how the transition has been for them going into weekly television and Sky, who happened to get the first AEW pinfall win over Chris Jericho last Wednesday on Dynamite, loves every bit of the hustle and bustle of week-to-week TV.

“It’s what I grew up dreaming of doing so it’s been kind of an easy transition because to picture yourself doing it for year after year of you’re life and then you actually start it and it’s like ‘Okay, this is going to be normal,’ and I love it.” Sky said. “Frankie and I were up – we were working out at 4 am because we were asked to do because we had to go do a TV interview at 5:45 so it’s just like, that’s just part of life now man and I love it.”

From the likes of DDP to The Rock ‘N Roll Express, AEW has also not shied away from implementing legacy talent into their brand and Kazarian enjoys the injection of legends into the product.

“It’s great to have somebody of like the caliber of Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart at the PPV [Double or Nothing], talking about how we’re going the christen the first AEW Champion. Bret Hart, in my opinion, in the top three to five best wrestlers ever,” said Kazarian. “Then you have legends like Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson coming in and you have guys like Tully Blanchard there, you have guys like Arn Anderson coming in and telling us how much he enjoys things. It’s very humbling.”

“Not just those guys but the guys that we have backstage like Jerry Lynn and Dean Malenko,” Scorpio Sky added, “Having those guys around is just priceless and we can all absorb and learn…”

Scorpio knows first hand the impact of ‘The Iceman’ Dean Malenko who is all but cold when it comes to having a sharp sense of humor.

“He’s got a very dry humor, he’s such a funny guy. Just actually, when we were flying here to Baltimore, he and I sat right next to each other on our flight. We had a good talk but we also took a nap and first thing he said when we landed, he said, ‘Now don’t tell anyone we slept together.’”
