Scrapped Plans For Gable Steveson In WWE

Fans are still waiting to see Gable Steveson make his WWE in-ring debut. 

Steveson signed with WWE as a NIL athlete and later was drafted to Raw as part of the October 2021 WWE Draft. The Olympic Gold medalist made a cameo at WrestleMania 38. 

He recently announced that he would be returning to amateur competition.

On this week’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted original plans called for him to appear on episodes of WWE Raw starting in January 2022 that would build to his in-ring debut at WrestleMania. 

Triple H has publicly talked about wanting to work with Gable at WrestleMania 38, but that never happened due to his heart issues. 

Meltzer noted again that Gable’s progress in training at the Performance Center hadn’t lit the world on fire, so he hasn’t wrestled a match yet.
