In a recent episode of the “Insight” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer, Scott Steiner, did not hold back his criticism of Hulk Hogan, whose questionable actions and racially-charged remarks have resulted in significant negative reactions.
Find below key discussions from the podcast:
Steiner shed light on his ongoing feud with Hulk Hogan, stating, “What am I now supposed to do? Yet, I don’t forget. He received his due boos in California. All the insider news about his racist utterances. Everything would have remained concealed if there wasn’t a behind-the-scenes recording. Hence, I think a number of folks have come to understand that the Hulk Hogan persona projected by WWE or WCW wasn’t his true self. The racial comment. Both Hogan and Savage. I had close ties with Savage, who often shared stories with me. And then, there was that one time when he attempted to put me behind bars. I was faced with severe consequences. I could have spent 15 years in prison.”
Steiner continued, explaining why Hogan tried to put him in jail: “I discovered his deceptive tactics while at TNA. After I quit, I made him aware that I held the intent of landing him a hefty slap upon our next meet. However, I didn’t see him for approximately a year. And then, his wife happened to cross paths with me backstage at the WrestleMania in San Jose. Initially, I found it hard to place her, thinking she might be a dancer, but then it struck me that I had met her before. I still wasn’t entirely sure so I walked up to her, simply asking ‘Are you Hulk Hogan’s wife?’ Upon her confirmation, I expressed my indignation about Hogan inducting Savage into the Hall of Fame, which I believed was hogwash. I went ahead to tell her that I considered him a despicable human for handling the situation that way, and that I planned to slap him hard. I spoke quietly and calmly and casually picked up my bags and left the scene. She, however, called Hogan who then arrived at the airport and rang up the San Jose Police Department, alleging that I had slapped her and threatened his life. These are interpreted as terroristic threats and advanced assault under the law. I received a call from the San Jose Police Department about the incident, which was also reported on TMZ. Fortunately, the airport’s numerous cameras helped my case. If it hadn’t been for this camera evidence, it would have been a trying match for me in court with him and his wife pitted against me. Once I showed them it was all on camera, they ceased bothering me.”
