It appears that Scott D’Amore won’t be joining another renowned wrestling corporation anytime soon.
Earlier, as we covered on eWn, Anthem ended D’Amore’s agreement in February. There’s been plenty of conjecture about D’Amore possibly signing with another firm, but according to Rhino, his ex-head is continuing to draw a paycheck from the company until next February.
Rhino shared, during a recent K&S Wrestlefest signing event, “I came across information online suggesting AEW should hire Scott D’Amore to take the helm at Ring of Honor. It would certainly alleviate some of the pressure on the performers, but Scott’s currently at home, drawing a paycheck up until, I believe, next February, and there hasn’t been a time he’s been unemployed or not been paid.”
According to a report by Pwinsider, Rhino’s statements are correct. They confirm that D’Amore is under a non-compete agreement, barring him from joining a national wrestling league in the USA or Canada until February 2025.
Nevertheless, D’Amore’s own wrestling promotion, Border City Wrestling, is all set to host its inaugural event following his departure from TNA this forthcoming weekend.
