Scorpio Sky is itching to return to the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) ring, while simultaneously expressing interest in working independent shows again. Sky has been absent from competition since his win at a Ring Of Honor taping last October, where he overpowered Dante Martin. His previous match for AEW transpired just a week before that.

On a fresh episode of the “Insight” podcast, the wrestler openly discussed his break from AEW action, emphatically denying that he is prone to injury. Sky asserted, “The truth is, there’s an assumption making rounds that I’m injury-prone. ‘He disappears for a while, returns, and then gets injured once more.’ This notion is far from reality. I wish to clarify this misconception. I unfortunately did experience an injury about two years back. However, I recovered in a matter of weeks. The challenge lies in reinserting oneself into the rotation, considering the overwhelming amount of talent we possess.”

Sky metaphorically explained his situation by likening his career to a Ferris wheel, “You’re atop the wheel at one instance, but you realize that a descent is inevitable, and consequently have to await your turn to ascend again. Essentially, it is what transpired with me. While it’s true that I endured a handful of injuries in the past few years, I have been predominantly fit for most of the time, close to 80%.”

Sky also delve into how arduous it can be to synchronize a return with ongoing programs and expressed his readiness to revisit independent shows, stating, “It’s exponentially difficult to regain your position, given our extensive array of emerging talent. It echoes the feeling of ‘out of sight, out of mind.’ It is the most apt description. I am raring to reenter the ring and exercise my prowess. I am in optimum physical condition and thoroughly thrilled.”

He emphasized his urge to return to the independent circuit as well. Sky added, “Apart from AEW, I’m also enthusiastic to revisit the indie scene. It’s been a considerable period since I last performed in independent shows. I believe it would be a thrilling experience to revisit my roots and scout for new talents. It’s about time I found out who’s who in the game and bang heads with them”
