On a recent episode of the Izzy on Sports show, Saraya opened up about how fellow AEW wrestler Jon Moxley aided her in improving her promo skills. Saraya identifies Moxley as a key reason behind her increasing comfort and self-assuredness when delivering promos in AEW.
The onetime holder of the AEW Women’s Championship acknowledged Moxley for assisting her in tapping into her authentic self and bolstering her confidence. According to her, this made it possible for her to express her personal narrative openly. She emphasized,
“Jon Moxley offered a significant helping hand to me. Renee, one of my closest friends, introduced me to her husband, Jon. He played a critical role in leading me to AEW and frequently counseled me over the phone. I told him how much help I needed since I was not feeling confident at all. For instance, during the promo with Britt [Baker], I allowed myself to be honest and speak about aspects of my life. I even talked about my sobriety and the turbulent times I experienced, including when my private videos went viral. All these struggles I endured for about one and a half years are real.”
She went on to add, “Jon urged me to confront my reality. He advised, ‘Your promo will be perfect if you stop trying to play a character and just narrate your truth.’ Because of Jon’s guidance, I found the courage to conquer my fears and became more relaxed. His help was truly transformative.”
