Ring of Honor World Television Champion Samoa Joe is thrilled to bring the character of Sweet Tooth to life in the upcoming ‘Twisted Metal’ TV series.

With his imposing frame, Joe will portray the physical body of Sweet Tooth, while Will Arnett (Bojack Horseman, The LEGO Batman Movie) will provide the voice.

Sitting down with “Doughboys Media,” Joe addressed playing the iconic killer clown from the hit video game series. He said,

“It’s cool, man. What can you say? It’s Sweet Tooth! Like it’s a kind of an iconic video game character, especially from my youth. I’m an every-game generation guy, I’ve been there for every single one.

“So PlayStation when it launched, ‘Twisted Metal’ came out that was like the co-op ‘we’re gonna sit down and play this – this crazy, blow up the Eiffel Tower’ kinda game, so it’s weird getting a call out of the blue [to screen test].”

Joe added that his mother is thrilled about the casting as, despite wrestling on TV for decades, this is his first network show.

Joe’s mom was far less thrilled when her son showed her the first trailer which featured the AEW/ROH star as a murderous clown.

Joe will defend the ROH World Television Championship later this week at ROH Death Before Dishonor against Dalton Castle.
