Still coming off the concussion and still handling the surprise results of that. Returning in the ring healthy, transitioning back to a physical state where I can * do something * for a great time period and not wish to lose consciousness.”

On the concussion that actually put him on the rack:” [It was] on an industrial shoot, the table didn’t break like it was expected to. I generally captured 2 concussions extremely close together, which is horrible. “

On how doing commentary enabled him to get healthy: “I did take a year and a half off to do commentary, which assisted me significantly. I do not be sorry for taking that time. I would not alter it for anything. That permitted me to get healthy, get my mind back together. Return into a location where I felt great even doing anything physical. I recognize that if I would have hurried that, I undoubtedly would have not gone back to the ring at all. I more than happy that I dealt with that well in spite of wishing to get after it.”

On what he concentrated on as an analyst:“If anything, the hardest part about commentary is the guy in your ear. You can vouch for that (laughs). Since he’s really exacting, it’s simply. He desires what he desires. No beef with that, I get it. When I was out there, I simply believed about what I would desire individuals to state about me. That was my primary centerpiece; if I’m so-and-so, how would I wish to be discussed if I was on top, and I was battering a person, how would I desire that be explained? That was the state of mind I took into it. I wished to boost whatever entertainer remained in that ring. I wished to boost how they appeared to the fan.”

I got a lot regard for Michael Cole in seeing what he really provides for the business. It goes far beyond the video camera. Seeing what he needs to bear with, seeing what he needs to handle. I recognized this is a guy who … anyone else would have broke under the pressure that he’s put under, regularly, week after week after week. He was a huge aid, too. He totally thought in me, did whatever he [might] to put me in the very best position he might to assist me prosper. He made that shift simple.”
