Sammy Guevara Was More Worried About Pregnancy Announcement Than AEW Title Match

Sammy Guevara is used to high-stakes situations, but nothing could prepare him for announcing his upcoming fatherhood.

At AEW Double or Nothing, Guevara announced that he and Tay Melo are expecting their first child before Guevara challenged for the AEW World Championship.

While speaking to “TMZ Sports,” Guevara said that he was more nervous about the pregnancy announcement than the title match. He said,

“I was personally more excited for the entrance. I feel like we were like opposite. She was more nervous for me for the match, and I was more nervous, excited for the entrance.

“I had to snap out of it. I almost started crying. It was just very surreal. Us four young guys, wrestling for the world title and then right before that, going out there and announcing we’re having a baby.”

Tay Melo recently refuted the notion that her pregnancy marks the end of her wrestling career.
