In his recent vlog, professional wrestler Sammy Guevara reflected on his tumultuous year with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
As is well known, Guevara faced suspension for non-compliance with the concussion protocol during his against Jeff Hardy in February. He made his comeback in July on ROH TV and managed to return to AEW broadcasts in August.
Guevara shared, “Honestly, it has been a wild year. I’ve experienced a whirlwind of events. I switched from pursuing the AEW tag titles with a different partner to seizing tag team victory with Dustin Rhodes. And being able to do that in Texas, where I have wrestled extensively in the independent scene, feels surreal. I ran into many fans from my indie wrestling days at these AEW events, and some even shared old pictures taken around 2015-2016. It boggles my mind that that was nearly a decade ago. It still seems like yesterday.”
Guevara continued, “Today signifies something special. I want to assure everyone that Sammy Guevara’s best days aren’t behind him. The greatness I’m creating occurs in the present, so stay tuned for much more to come. I’m aware my success may ruffle some feathers, but I’m not going anywhere. I’m here to stay.”
Recently, Kris Statlander appeared on the “Youngstown Studio” podcast and discussed various aspects of her career, including her aspirations. She expressed,
“As for long-term aspirations, I hope to avoid any major injuries, it’s the best I can hope for. In the short term, I aspire to be a champion again, possibly fight in one of these New Japan shows. These are feasible challenges within my reach. While I wouldn’t say that I’m highly goal-oriented, I acknowledge that everything can change, in wrestling and life, on a daily basis.”
Statlander added, “Hence, my focus is to appreciate what I can accomplish each day, maximize every opportunity that comes my way, and seize those opportunities when they present themselves. Whether things happen or come to me, I will graciously accept and make the most of it.”
