WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn is confirmed to defend his title against Chad Gable in the upcoming WWE Clash At The Castle 2024 event scheduled for this weekend.
In an intimate conversation with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Zayn shared his thoughts regarding the upcoming match.
He stated with vigor: “Reflecting upon Clash at the Castle, it was held in Wales in 2022 and unfortunately, I couldn’t be a part of it. I remember feeling a twinge of jealousy about missing out on that. As such, I am eagerly looking forward to entertaining the crowd this time around. With the likes of Backlash last year in Puerto Rico, this year in France, Saudi events, events in Montreal and Australia, and all these international PLEs becoming the norm, the enthusiasm of the fans is palpable. As a performer, you can feel their intensity through the television or computer screen. It adds a unique zest to our matches, and whole experience. I am quite thrilled. I’ve had the privilege to wrestle with Chad Gable many times before and our rapport is great. Especially considering the ongoing storyline with Otis and Alpha Academy, it brings an additional element to the equation. Given the fact that nowadays these PLEs have lesser number of matches, it allows for each match to breathe and evolve, setting the stage for something truly extraordinary.”
