Samantha Irvin, previously a WWE ring announcer, decided to part ways with the organization as she didn’t want to pigeonhole herself into one role in the entertainment industry. She had grown disinterested in being confined to the announcer’s booth.
Post her departure, Irvin has been transparent about her decision and the reasoning behind it. She shared that being an announcer was not something she was keen on continuing.
A follower on her Twitter account suggested that she might have waited until the planned shift of RAW to Netflix in the coming January. In response, Irvin mentioned that leaving prior to the transition to another platform was challenging, but she justified her departure’s timing.
She wrote on Twitter, “Difficult decision to make, but the longer I sustained my announcer’s role, the stronger the belief grew that it was the extent of what I was capable of. And the power of such a vast platform definitely played a part.”
News suggests that Irvin quit the WWE to explore more opportunities in the entertainment sector, including continuing her journey as a musician and vocalist.
Regarding rumors associated with her shift to AEW, both her and her fiancée Ricochet, have dismissed the possibility. Irvin, however, expressed a desire to manage in the wrestling industry.
