The professional wrestling sphere was taken aback when Samantha Irvin announced her exit from WWE ahead of this week’s Monday Night RAW episode.
The announcement of her exit surprised many, leaving many grappling with her decision to separate from WWE.
After the unexpected announcement about Irvin’s WWE departure, the wrestling community got into a frenzy, trying to speculate the reasons behind her decision.
Speculations were rife that she could possibly transition to AEW. However, Ricochet, her spouse, quashed these rumors.
Ricochet clarified that there were no plans for Irvin to make the switch to AEW, thereby laying such rumors to rest.
It was previously reported by Pwinsider that Irvin communicated her decision to WWE shortly before the RAW episode, but Irvin has subsequently refuted those reports.
Multiple reports suggest that Irvin purposefully chose to step down and that WWE was informed earlier in the day. Thus, it wasn’t a question of the company letting her go.
According to the report, “Many of you have asked, and we, PWInsider.com, can confirm from multiple sources within the company that ring announcer Samantha Irvin chose to resign from her role. She decided to part company with WWE. We learned earlier today that this wasn’t due to WWE releasing her. As to why she chose to leave, it still remains uncertain.”
On seeing the report, Irvin swiftly addressed it on Twitter, asserting that she had alerted WWE about her intentions to quit several months before.
She posted on Twitter, “Ahead of RAW by several months*”
It is believed that Irvin has been contemplating this decision for some time now to shift her focus to her music career. Now officially separated from WWE, she’s fully immersing herself in the world of music.
