Ryan Nemeth isn’t willing to say much about his infamous tweet about CM Punk in which he dubbed the ex-AEW star the softest man alive.
Nemeth’s comment came after Punk returned to AEW programming in the summer of 2023 which saw the Best in the World make comments seemingly aimed at The Elite.
On a recent edition of the “WrestleBinge” podcast, Nemeth was asked about his tweet about Punk. He said,
“There’s some things I can talk about and some things I can’t talk about. The top good guy on the TV show was missing for eight months after what I was told was a tricep injury and on his first night back called someone ‘soft.’ And so I thought, ‘I’m a heel. This is a babyface. We both work for the same wrestling company. He gets injured more than anyone who’s ever wrestled and his first night back called someone ‘soft.’
“Anything beyond that I’m not safely able to talk about … but I think that’s a very reasonable thing for a s***-talking bad guy heel to say in response to the heroic babyface who seemed to be a little hypocritical.”
The comment by Nemeth led to Punk confronting him at an AEW Collision taping and aggressively asked Ryan if they needed to settle things ‘outside.’
Punk was fired from AEW following his backstage fight with Jack Perry at All In that was broadcast on a recent Dynamite. He returned to WWE in November 2023.
Ryan Nemeth, a professional wrestler, recently made headlines with his tweet about CM Punk, a former AEW star. In the tweet, Nemeth referred to Punk as the “softest man alive,” sparking controversy and speculation among wrestling fans.
The tweet came after Punk’s return to AEW programming in the summer of 2023. During his return, Punk made comments that seemed to be directed at The Elite, a popular wrestling group. Nemeth, who portrays a heel (villainous) character in the wrestling world, took offense to Punk’s comments and decided to respond with his own provocative tweet.
In a recent interview on the “WrestleBinge” podcast, Nemeth was asked about his tweet and the reasoning behind it. He explained that his comment was a response to Punk’s actions and words. According to Nemeth, Punk had been absent from AEW for eight months due to a tricep injury. However, on his first night back, Punk referred to someone as “soft.” Nemeth found this hypocritical and felt it was an appropriate response from a heel character like himself.
Nemeth also mentioned that there were certain aspects of the situation that he couldn’t discuss openly. This suggests that there may be more to the story than meets the eye, but he chose not to elaborate further. Despite this, Nemeth’s comments were enough to catch Punk’s attention.
During an AEW Collision taping, Punk confronted Nemeth about his tweet. Witnesses reported that Punk approached Nemeth aggressively and asked if they needed to settle their differences “outside.” The confrontation added fuel to the already heated exchange between the two wrestlers.
However, the story took another turn when Punk was fired from AEW following a backstage fight with Jack Perry at All In, an event that was broadcast on a recent episode of Dynamite. This incident led to Punk’s departure from AEW and his subsequent return to WWE in November 2023.
The tweet by Nemeth and the subsequent confrontation with Punk highlight the intense rivalries and drama that often occur in the world of professional wrestling. Fans are left speculating about the true nature of the feud and eagerly await any further developments.
In conclusion, Ryan Nemeth’s tweet about CM Punk sparked controversy and led to a confrontation between the two wrestlers. While Nemeth provided some insight into his reasoning, there are still unanswered questions surrounding the situation. The incident serves as a reminder of the passionate rivalries and dramatic storylines that captivate wrestling fans around the world.
