In a fresh conversation with interviewer Stephanie Chase, Roxanne Perez spoke candidly about the feelings of imposter syndrome she faced when she joined WWE, revealing how adopting a villainous persona ironically helped her overcome her internal doubts.

Below are some key points from the podcast:

Roxanne maps out her early days in NXT, where initial insecurities clouded her confidence: “I recall my initial days at the WWE, not being sure of my identity. The overwhelming emotions made me starstruck, even though I had landed my dream job. Doubts loomed large… was I really capable of carrying this championship at just 20? Was I living up to my nickname ‘The Prodigy’? Eventually, I had to shun all the doubts and make it a point to stop people from underestimating me.”

Relating to her villainous turn, Roxanne confesses that it was a turning point and instilled a fresh confidence in her: “The character switch to being a heel was like a revelation. I now know I am the Prodigy. I belong amongst the top women wrestlers in the world currently. It’s about time I understand who I am and show the world my true self… Every single day I’m living my dream, which just proves that all the hard work I’ve been doing since I was 13 years old, it all counts and has gotten me to where I am. It’s incredibly rewarding to experience all that I’m going through.”
