Ronda Rousey made her exit from WWE after her MMA Rules Match against Shayna Baszler in the SummerSlam 2023 event. She didn’t hold back from expressing her disappointment with the company, openly criticizing WWE in numerous statements.

During a recent episode of the ‘Insight’ podcast, Rousey reflected on her journey in WWE and specifically discussed her farewell match with Baszler.

Here are some of the highlights from the podcast:

Ronda Rousey discussing her MMA Rules match at SummerSlam: “I believe if we had this match at [GCW] Bloodsport or a similar event, it would have been highly appreciated by the audience. But given the crowd at SummerSlam, it wasn’t appropriate for them. It was basically a tribute to various moments in MMA History that we’re fond of… it was a bold ‘fk you’ on my farewell. ‘You are going to bear witness to the match we always wanted to perform from the start.’ I don’t care about your opinion, go grab some popcorn if you want. But undoubtedly, we loved it.”

Discussing her desire to wrestle and endorse Shayna Baszler: “I always dreamt of wrestling with Shayna and being able to endorse her before I leave. My thought was, ‘Alright, I’m going to team up with Shayna, then she will betray me, and after that I make my exit, or I could just f*g leave immediately.’”
