Roman Reigns shocked the world by returning at SummerSlam, and during last week’s Payback, the superstar took down both The Fiend and Braun Strowman to capture the WWE Universal Championship. During tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Reigns and Paul Heyman made their way down to the ring, where Reigns vowed to defend his title from anyone.
During their appearance, Heyman made sure to make it clear to anyone watching that Reigns was the one who pulled him back into the thick of things, and that he wasn’t actually corrupting Reigns. Heyman then claimed that Reigns was tossed aside, and was tired of being throw into obscurity after his tireless efforts. Reigns then took the mic, saying that it doesn’t matter who his opponent is, because all he has to do is show up and win, which is exactly what he’ll do.
