Fans traveling to France for the upcoming WWE Backlash pay-per-view event shouldn’t expect to see Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

In 2022, Reigns signed a lucrative deal with WWE that has resulted in the Tribal Chief competing far less and his appearances on TV becoming more sporadic.

On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained how Reigns is unlikely to be at Backlash: France and other WWE events. He said,

“Roman Reigns is not on the Australia show. He’s not on the Paris show Backlash either by the way, for fans over there.”

“Roman’s gonna be wrestling at the Royal Rumble and then his next big match… He could do a TV match but he’s gonna wrestle at the Royal Rumble and then his next match is gonna be his WrestleMania match. After that, I would presume it’s gonna be Saudi and SummerSlam.”

Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at this month’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event against AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and LA Knight.

Fans of WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns may be disappointed to learn that he will not be appearing at the upcoming WWE Backlash pay-per-view event in France. This is due to a new contract that Reigns signed with WWE in 2022, which allows him to compete less frequently and make more sporadic appearances on TV.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Reigns will not be participating in the Australia show or the Paris show Backlash. However, fans can expect to see him at the Royal Rumble, where he will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and LA Knight. After the Royal Rumble, Reigns’ next big match will be at WrestleMania, followed by potential appearances at the Saudi event and SummerSlam.

Reigns’ reduced schedule is a result of his new contract, which likely grants him more flexibility and time off. This allows him to focus on his health and well-being while still delivering high-quality performances during his limited appearances. It also adds an element of anticipation and excitement for fans, as they eagerly await his next big match.
