Matt Riddle, ex-WWE Superstar, has come forward with claims that Roman Reigns showed his displeasure towards him after a RK-Bro promo made a mention about The Bloodline.
During a recent airing of “The Bubba Army” podcast, Riddle remembered doing a promo where he was instructed to glorify RK-Bro’s merchandise sales. He shared,
“The promo was like, RK-Bro is making waves, and the person who organized the interview beforehand advised me to point out how RK-Bro is ruling the merchandise sales and we were the top team, better than The Bloodline, considering Randy and I were in conflict with them.”
“Therefore, I disparaged, implying RK-Bro was selling more t-shirts and dived into the merchandise numbers and so on. If we entered a cage or a ring, I’d take everyone down in The Bloodline. It doesn’t matter to me if you’re the Tribal Chief or something else.
Reigns got hold of this remark and allegedly was not pleased with the reference to The Bloodline, as revealed by Riddle. He continued,
“Roman was upset with me and sent me a message stating that what I did was outright unprofessional. I figured I should probably make amends, so I drafted an apology confessing that I was actually advised to talk trash, and I had no intent to cross boundaries, but I can beat him in a real life scenario. I shared the text with Randy, who responded saying, ‘Oh no, he won’t appreciate that. You shouldn’t interact with him like that.’ Randy gave me a half-hearted apology, very characteristic of him. When I forwarded that to Roman, he lost his temper.”
“I conceded, ‘I’m sorry, mate. I messed up, buddy. It won’t repeat.’ Randy implied, ‘Mishaps occur, hopefully we will collaborate in the future.’ The subsequent time I came across Roman was at a Live Event, just as we were resuming post-COVID. I greeted him, ‘How’s it Roman?’ but he just ignored and walked by. It was uncomfortable.”
“As we crossed paths and he didn’t answer, after a few steps away, I overheard him calling me a coward.”
The one and only solo face-off between Riddle and Reigns took place on the June 17, 2022 SmackDown edition where Reigns defended his Universal Championship.
Riddle parted ways with WWE in September 2023. Reigns has been MIA on WWE TV after his WrestleMania 40 defeat to Cody Rhodes.
