Roman Reigns’ tenure as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has reached plenty of milestones, but the Tribal Chief now has an unfortunate accolade.
Reigns has held the Universal Championship since Payback 2020 in August of that year and unified the gold with the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38.
Reigns’ last title defense was against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39, meaning Reigns has now reached 100 days without a title defense on TV.
In the past, WWE has had an unofficial rule that all champions must defend their gold once every 30 days, but this rule has been enforced less and less in recent years.
Reigns will return to WWE TV on next week’s SmackDown and is expected to face Jey Uso with the title on the line at Summerslam.
Today is day 1,049 of Reigns’ run as WWE Universal Champion.
