Roman Reigns will protect the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship versus Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39 (Night Two) in Los Angeles, CA.
Ahead of today’s centerpiece title clash, Reigns did an interview with Daniel Cormier for ESPN throughout which he revealed his adoration for Rhodes.
The Tribal Chief credited The American Nightmare for blazing a path beyond WWE which ultimately resulted in the birth of AEW. Reigns stated,
” It’s going to sound a little unusual since, in our heated exchanges, I stated some things, and I wait them. From my viewpoint, he ran. Simple and plain. On the other side, he did something extremely durable. He did something that, which’s one of the important things that perhaps troubles me or issues me the most about him … I do not understand if I would want or if I might do what he did.”
” As a guy, I do not like that. I wish to seem like I can do anything, however he did something that, I do not understand if I would have wanted to do what he did. I appreciate that. Me and Seth (Rollins), this is among the only things we settle on, we do not wish to be busting our ass this entire time, developing this thing up for what it is, and simply have some white knight coming sweeping in and take it from us. I’ve worked too hard, every year, program after program, to put this location where it is. Here he comes. That’s simply not how it works for me.”
