Roderick Strong Takes Out Grayson Waller, Retains NXT Cruiserweight Title

Roderick Strong stayed strong in his first NXT Cruiserweight Title defense.
This week on WWE NXT 2.0, the Diamond Mine leader took on the challenger of Grayson Waller, who made sure there was no pomp and circumstance before their bout began. Waller stayed in control through the commercial break until Strong kept him grounded to control the pace of the fight. The two men exchanged a series of pin attempts before the champion laid out Grayson with a nasty backbreaker.
Later in the match, the momentum shifted when Waller nailed a high hangtime elbow for a very near fall. He also got another strong pin attempt after he rolled into the ring to hit a stunner. But his valiant effort wasn’t enough, as a crisp knee lariat put Waller down for the 1-2-3 and remined everyone that diamonds are made under pressure.
